Three Steps to Online Marketing Success

The three elements of a successful online marketing campaign are as follows:-

The Website
When a potential customer arrives on the site and it looks dull and unprofessional, or the person is unable to see within a few seconds that you are unable to provide either the goods or services that they are looking for, then they will find another site. You must make it clear and easy for people to navigate around the website as possible. A good way of seeing if your site fits this criterion is by asking people who are not involved in the business to see what questions they would ask or how difficult the site was to navigate around.

You should be able to add items into a basket within 3 clicks or at least find the information they are looking for. When asking somebody to complete an online form, make this as short as possible as many people do not want to spend ages completing information that is not relevant to their purchase. For example, if we buy items from a shop we walk in, we find the item then pay for it and leave, but if we had to complete a long form before paying for the goods we might find another shop.

We at Getmeonthefrontpage have been building websites since 1997, and this was before website optimisation was even required because so few websites existed (indeed, before many of the search engines we all use today).
During this time we have learnt all of the elements that are required to make a website visible to search engines and most importantly having your website appearing on the front page. Having a listing on the second page of Google is about as helpful as being on the 10th page, as the vast majority of people can find whatever they are looking for on the front page.

Because most companies now have a website, it has become imperative that the site is search engine friendly and is correctly optimised, this is known as Search Engine Optimisation or SEO. Our experienced team have the knowledge and expertise to get your website to the front page of the search engines by using ethical methods and hard work.

You will need to have a realistic idea on the budget required, for example having a budget of £500 per month when competing against people who are spending £5000 - £10,000 per month and in some cases over £100,000 would be difficult. Look at the competition for the same search terms you want to target and see if you believe your site is better or has more to offer and if you have a similar advertising budget.
Website Promotion / Online PR:

Having your website promoted correctly will not only increase potential visitors to the site, but will also increase the amount of links to it. Links to your site are seen as a vote of confidence by search engines, for example if another website links to some information contained within the site that is interesting, then they are saying this site is good and therefore I am prepared to recommend it to visitors from my own site. The quality of links is imperative, as having thousands of poor quality links (normally these are purchased cheaply) does not help as the search engines know they are obtained for cash and not because the information on your site is interesting or relevant.
Search engine marketing is highly specialised, and this is something we are particularly good at and have a proven track record in. Having a long term strategy will give long term results, but having a short term strategy might not provide any significant results.
